Culinary Arts 2020, additional details


Culinary Arts SECONDARY

DIFFERENT LOCATION THAN POSTSECONARY CONTEST!!!  Secondary students will compete at the Mountainland Tech College (MTEC) Lehi Campus/Cafeteria (Thanksgiving Point).  Address is: 2301 West Ashton Blvd. Lehi, UT 84043.  Location & Contest Contact:  Chef Anthony, ahuntington@mtec.edu.  SLCC will be the Culinary Arts Postsecondary Competition ONLY.

Pre-Contest Meeting – 3/27/20 at 7:00 am sharp.  Recommend that you are on campus by 6:45 am. at the MTECH Lehi Campus

SECONDARY Contest will begin at 7:30 am on 3/27/20 at the MTECH Lehi Campus.

ANTICIPATED MENU – Composed Salad with emulsified Dressing (note: the salad will be eliminated for 2020 Utah Culinary Arts Competition), Clear Soup, Sautéed Chicken with Sauce, Grains, Vegetables, Braised Chicken with Sauce, Roasted Potatoes, Vegetables. Note: Soup may be eliminated if timing to complete the competition is an issue – the goal is to have soup if at all possible.

REMINDER:
As a reminder and to be consistent with the other culinary related contests –
We ask that each school provides prizes for each placement (post-secondary 1st, 2nd, and 3rd and secondary 1st, 2nd, and 3rd).  We will be putting all of these prizes together for the winners.


Culinary Arts POSTSECONDARY

Location: SLCC Larry Miller Campus 9750 South 300 West, Sandy, UT 84070 Culinary Institute.  Location & Contest Contact: Chef Coker, Jeffrey.coker@slcc.edu.  SLCC will be the Culinary Arts Postsecondary Competition ONLY.  All SECONDARY students will compete at Lehi MTECH (Thanksgiving Point).

POST-SECONDARY Contest will begin at 7:30 am on 3/27/20 at the SLCC Larry Miller Campus.
Post-Secondary Culinary Arts is a Market Basket Format.  Competitors will receive a market basket with various proteins, vegetables, fruits, and starches.   Market Basket (All ingredients must be used throughout your menu), Market Basket Ingredients will be announced prior to the contest – more information coming soon!
